If you're a strategic, detail-driven professional with strong technical insight and excellent coordination skills, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.The purpose of the Design Coordinator is to coordinate with the Comer Group design team for the project build, ensuring all design consultancy teams, on-site trades, and specialist subcontractor designers are fully aligned, while guiding the evolving design toward the optimum solution in terms of client brief, quality, robustness, and cost.BenefitsCompetitive hourly rate based on your experienceA robust pension scheme and free parkingDiscounted meals at our head office20 annual leave days plus 2 extra company days for that perfect work-life balanceExclusive access to the award-winning Palmerstown House Estate Golf Club and Trackman driving rangeSpecial friends and family rates at Comer Group HotelsResponsibilitiesCoordinate the design teams and external design consultants ensuring the Pre-construction stage design development, tender packs and relevant FSC / DAC applications etc is on program to allow construction to progressPlan and lead design & engineering workshops with in house and external discipline engineers to resolve any issues and ensure progressed ahead of site activitiesManage the Technical submittal (TS) process ensuring the specification is adhered too and TS are submitted in a timely manner to allow the Design team review, comment and follow upWork closely with the cost management team to agree the priority of tendering packages where long lead and complex submittals process might arise this will push the procurement to take place earlier over other packagesManage the design query process raising issues in weekly workshops with follow up RFI's raisedManage IFC releases and updates ensuring coordination with the design team and Winthrop engineers ensuring they are fully up to date with current designs, changes to be raised to change management as requiredLead weekly Design/Engineering meetings with internal and external teams to review engineering plan/progress, expedite/escalate any urgent itemsPopulate a design risk register ensuring senior management are aware of all potential upcoming risk to the programManage the design and submittal process for the FFE packagesReport design & engineering progress in weekly client meetings highlighting any concerns/risks to the projectCoordinate contractor construction drawing and models ensuring drawings are cooked and approved in time for construction to proceed on programManage contractors as built drawing ensuring timely submissions as per the project requirements and planned handoverEnsure contractors are submitting all required documentation, O&M manuals and uploading to the approved client platformsManage and coordinate any sustainability requirements such as Home Performance Index for the project as per the Comer Groups requirements, liaise with the client's design team and external sustainability consultants in weekly / monthly meetings and issue reports/ minutes, generate monthly reports on progress and design to achieve the clients sustainability requirementsDevelop further detail into the Comer Group Design Guide document which we use as a template across all developments which details our client requirements in various areas such as design principles, material selection, design team level of detail expectations etc.Assist with early stage planning of pre-planning sites to test outputs in terms of density, height, massing etc.QualificationsA Bachelor Degree or equivalent in a related subject (e.g. Architecture, Engineering, Construction)You must have a proven level of experience in apartment construction in IrelandYou must be aware of the technical submittal and design submittal processYou must have experience of Procore or similar construction / design softwareYou must be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit softwareExcellent organisational skills with an ability to produce quality work and achieve project deadlines within budgetYou must be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business servicesA forward planner, who identifies and resolves project challenges effectivelyHave an in-depth knowledge base and experience across all work stagesDisplay excellent written and verbal communication skills. Have thorough knowledge of EU building regulations and construction technologyPossess strong technical and construction detailing ability.
