Our purpose is to nourish the world, while safeguarding our environment for future generations.Role SummaryWe have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician at Tirlán Virginia on a fixed term contract basis.The position will report to the QC Manager and will be primarily based in the chemical and physical testing laboratory with cover for other laboratory activities on site.The role will involve testing at all stages of production – raw materials, in-process and finished goods. This position is part of the laboratory shift rota covering seven days per week.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out testing at all stages of production – raw materials, in-process and finished goods.Compliance to test methods, standards and sampling frequencies as defined by plant and laboratory proceduresRecording of all test data on site LIMS system Labware together with associated LIMS administrative tasks.Flag all non-conformances or potential non-conformances in a timely mannerSuccessful implementation and participation in both internal proficiency testingExcellent completion of all documentation, paper and electronic.Day to day maintenance of laboratory hygiene standardsInvolvement in continuous improvement initiativesEquipment cleaning, maintenance and calibrationCross-Training, Development & Project Work, Lab 3M Board DutieQualificationsFood Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or equivalent Quality related third level science qualificatioExperience:Must have a flexible and dynamic attitude to work, with strong organisational skillsStrong communication with good interpersonal and team participation skillsGood IT literacy i.e. LIMs, Excel etcProblem solving and data interpretation skillsOther:Understanding of, or experience in SAP and LIMs systems an advantageUnderstanding of Lean principles an advantageParticipate in the employee development programmeAbout usThrough our expertise in research and development, customer insights, food safety and state-of-the-art manufacturing we bring innovative food and nutrition solutions to a global market.
