Senior Financial Operations Manager (Assistant Principal Officer) (Permanent Wholetime)(Reference 671/2025) Role Overview This is one of two roles which manage the broad range of the operational function within Finance.
The Operational Function currently includes the following (though the allocation of responsibilities can change in line with strategic or operational needs of the finance function): Payroll, Student Fees and Income, Banking, Treasury and Core Expenses, Accounts Payable Initially, the appointee will be allocated to look after Banking, Treasury and Core Expenses, and Accounts Payable.
However, at any stage the appointee may have to take on the responsibility for the full range of duties for short periods.
The purpose of this role is to develop, lead and manage highly automated financial operations, ensuring transactional excellence, accuracy, timeliness and compliance in support of the Universitys financial and strategic goals.
Additionally, the role is accountable for the delivery of accurate, compliant people payments (expenses) for the University.
Reporting to the CFO, as part of Finance Shared Services, the Senior Financial Operations Manager will be accountable for leading the Financial Operations team and delivering all aspects within the scope of the role accurately and on time.
This scope will initially include Accounts Payable, Banking and Treasury, Expenses, FOI requests, taxation matters, related activities, and aspects of Fixed Assets.
These responsibilities will change in line with strategic or operational needs.
This role will be responsible for the efficient and effective use of budget and staff resources and to pro-actively manage all in scope financial operations matters and outputs for the University on time, quality and budget.
The role must contribute to the development and share accountability for the delivery and implementation of Finance Functions strategy, in alignment with the Universitys strategic plan.
This role will play an important proactive part in ensuring that the Finance Function is a well governed, accurate and trusted team that delivers value add and financial assurance efficiently and effectively leveraging technology where possible.

Location: The post will be based at one of the TU Dublin Campuses i.e.
Aungier Street, Bolton Street, Grangegorman, Blanchardstown or Tallaght.
Regular attendance at other sites will be required.
Salary: The appointee will commence at point 1 of the Assistant Principal Officer pay scale i.e.
