RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care.We are urgently seeking Staff Nurse - Dual qualified (Paediatric and General) - Surgical Ward and Theatre for our hospital in Westmeath Ireland.Responsibilities Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care to adult and paediatric patients undergoing anaesthesia.Assist the anaesthetist during preparation, induction, maintenance, and emergence from anaesthesia, including airway management and monitoring.Prepare, check, and maintain anaesthetic equipment, drugs, and supplies according to hospital protocols and manufacturer guidelines.Monitor patients' conditions, respond promptly to changes, and escalate concerns appropriately.Apply the Paediatric Early Warning System (PEWS) and escalate deteriorating patients to appropriate clinical personnel.Ensure accurate and timely documentation of nursing assessments, care, and interventions in line with professional and hospital standards.Maintain aseptic technique and comply with infection prevention and control policies at all times.Provide patient-centred care, advocating for the safety, comfort, and dignity of both adult and paediatric patients and offering reassurance to families.Collaborate effectively with anaesthetists, surgeons, and theatre teams, ensuring clear communication through briefings, debriefings, and handovers.Adhere to NMBI professional standards, participate in quality improvement and risk management initiatives, and contribute to policy and procedure development.RequirementsRegistered, or eligible for registration, in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Minimum of 3 years post-registration full-time experience (or equivalent), including at least 1 year in the relevant speciality or a closely related area.Demonstrated clinical and administrative capacity to effectively carry out the responsibilities of the role.Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
