Senior Laboratory Manager
Role Description:
The Senior Laboratory Manager will lead a team of highly skilled laboratory scientists in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role involves overseeing all technical/scientific aspects of the work of the Department, ensuring the Quality Management System conforms to ISO standards, and participating in the development of laboratory policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
* Lead a team of laboratory scientists in conducting tests, verifying methods, and validating results.
* Oversee the quality management system, ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
* Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures.
* Participate in the hospital's Infection Prevention and Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship Committees.
Requirements:
* Have required qualifications for a Chief Medical Scientist.
* A postgraduate degree in Medical Laboratory Science and be registered with CORU.
* Approved qualifications for a Principal Biochemist (HSE grade) including an MSc in Clinical Biochemistry or relevant subject area.
* 6 years' experience in a Medical Laboratory post-qualification, 2 of which must be in a senior post.
* Experience in Quality Management and ISO Accreditation.
