About the role
A position has arisen within our Information Systems team for a Technical Business Analyst within the Information systems department. The position will support the Wealth Management business in Davy. In the role, the successful candidate will:
* To work closely with business users & project stakeholders to understand issues & identify system and/or process solutions.
* To configure, enhance and maintain in scope wealth management applications in line with business requirements and product roadmaps.
* Design and develop solutions that meet key business requirements with a strong focus on implementing improvements that deliver business efficiency and productivity gains.
* To proactively identify organisational impacts as a result of new business process or system deployments.
* Validate and verify business requirements, functional specifications, test plans and related documentation in support of systems initiatives.
* To liaise with members of the IT function and external vendors to determine how best to deliver those requirements.
* Be proficient in SQL, Database design and technical scripting languages such as Python.
* To become a subject matter expert by maintaining a detailed knowledge base of business operations, business processes, data flows and systems in the business areas supported.
* Follow internal IS processes, project methodologies and software development lifecycles through all project phases and for managing application support issues.
* Provide regular, accurate and timely project updates to all stakeholders within IS and across the business.
* To provide a high standard of support for in-scope applications and to the business teams in order to investigate queries and bring to a satisfactory resolution or escalate where required.
* To draft comprehensive test scripts and use cases in order to prove successful change & to work closely with members of the IT function and business users in designing and executing test plans.
* To support the business readiness phase of the project by reviewing business processes and procedures, preparing training materials, scheduling training sessions, supporting post implementation reviews & lessons learned.
About you
We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills:
* A minimum of 3+ years' experience with a proven track record of working in a technically complex environment.
* Demonstrable achievements in managing & delivering solutions to complex business requirements.
* Very strong technical skills and a desire to progress to becoming a lead technical analyst/architect.
* Strong experience in systems analysis, technical design, solutions development and deployment with a proven track record of playing a key role.
* Ability to maintain productive and cordial relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at various levels of seniority across the organization.
* Experience in working with 3rd party system solution providers.
* Knowledge of financial markets and particularly Wealth Management systems an advantage.
* Knowledge of business intelligence and development tools such as Python, Power BI, SQL query skills.
* A proven track record of working in multi-disciplined project environments.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills working in a pressurised environment dealing with time critical issues.
* An ability to prioritise workloads and achieve critical deadlines.
* Experience of drafting comprehensive test scripts & use cases and executing test plans.
* Strong facilitation and influencing skills.
Qualifications
* A relevant Third Level degree.
* Experience of both Waterfall and Agile project methodologies.
* Business Process Mapping techniques with supporting accreditations.
* Project Management ( Prince or PMP) an advantage.
