Job Overview:
Clinical nurse managers play a crucial role in delivering high-quality nursing care to residents in a nursing home setting.
They ensure that policies and clinical standards are consistently applied, collaborate with staff to maintain standards, and identify concerns for action plans.
Resident assessments and care plans must be comprehensive and updated regularly.
* Resolve ongoing clinical issues and escalate them to the director of nursing as necessary.
* Conduct thorough resident assessments and update care plans accordingly.
* Oversee medication administration and compliance among nursing staff.
* Manage inventory and stock levels effectively.
* Communicate with GPs and pharmacies regarding medication reviews and audits.
* Staff Supervision & Training: Collaborate with staff nurses and care assistants, supporting training and development, and performance appraisals.
* Auditing: Review new admissions, observe practice, monitor cleanliness and hygiene standards, and conduct audits for medication, health and safety, and risk management.
* Residents and Relatives: Engage daily with residents and families, addressing complaints promptly and effectively.
Requirements:
* BSc in General Nursing or equivalent qualification.
* Previous managerial experience is advantageous.
* Registration on the NMBI live register.
* Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
* Effective decision-making ability.
* Motivated with the ability to inspire and work independently.
