On behalf of our client in public health, we are now recruiting Support Workers to join a new residential service for adults with an intellectual disability.
These are long-term temporary contracts, with part-time and full time positions available.
Ideal candidate will have
QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or Social Care Worker Qualification
Has an understanding and experience of working people with intellectual disabilities
Has a detailed understanding and experience in supporting people with Intellectual Disabilities and autism spectrum disorder and has training in Positive Behaviour Supports and Safe Medication Management
Has ability to lone work
Is fluent in English and clear intonation
Can take direction from managers and will comply with policies and procedures
Is flexible when required which can include providing personal care and assist in household duties
Can document all care in line with care plan
Experience working in residential care, special care units or ASD unit
Has an understanding of the Health Act **** which is the legislative framework for regulations of residential services of people with Disabilities
All statutory trainings are up to date which includes fire training, safeguarding vulnerable adults.
Need to attend staff meetings with PIC as planned
