Occupational Therapist - Homeless Services Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in Galway City, delivering innovative and person-centered services to support individuals experiencing homelessness. As a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of occupational therapy in this specialism area.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Assess client needs, develop and implement intervention plans to promote independent living and participation in meaningful activities.
* Collaborate with clients, staff, and other professionals to achieve individualized care goals.
* Use assertive outreach strategies to engage individuals who may be reluctant to access traditional services.
* Facilitate group and individual interventions to enhance skills, wellbeing, and social inclusion.
* Document assessments, progress notes, and reports according to professional standards.
Requirements:
* Qualifications: Relevant university degree or equivalent Masters-level qualification in Occupational Therapy, registered with CORU.
* Experience: Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience, preferably in community-based or assertive outreach settings.
* Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in IT, including MS Office, and ability to work in a safe manner.
