Data Platform Engineer
Reporting into the Data Platform Manager in Three’s IT & Networks department, the role holder will primarily be responsible for data science infrastructure, building out scalable code and managing deployments.
The responsibilities include building and supporting data science models, developing ETL processes, managing end‑to‑end deployments, investigating and fixing data pipeline issues, and creating actionable insights that drive business value.
Responsibilities
Police standards across all technologies.
Manage GCP Cloud infrastructure.
Review, approve and deploy all production changes (models, data pipelines, etc).
Monitor, investigate, fix and tune data science models and data pipelines.
Build scalable code using Python and SQL in Google technologies.
Research and develop future product releases in GCP.
Impact assessment and design specification of new requirements or changes to systems as required.
Challenge requirements to ensure purpose and value of data is clear.
Coordinate efforts with external parties and internal stakeholders to manage the impact of changes and source issues on our outputs.
Collaborate with business owners, technology leads and Data and AI Tribe colleagues.
Mentor and challenge in‑house and third‑party developers on data science models and ETL best practice and ensure all relevant standards are met.
Extensive data interrogation and validation.
Feature engineering and development and maintenance of analytical datasets.
Skills & Qualifications
Ability to problem solve.
Data pipelines development experience (Google BigQuery and Datastage preferably).
Advanced knowledge of Python.
Advanced knowledge of SQL.
Manage and deploy CI/CD via GitLab/GitHub.
Strong technical writing – Ability to document complex data science models, ETL pipelines clearly.
Very strong technical data development skills.
Knowledge and experience working in Unix and Windows.
Ability to communicate outputs and build relationships with stakeholders.
Passion for driving business value from innovative and efficient BI solutions.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Reporting tool experience (Cognos 11 or PowerBI preferably).
Telco experience an advantage.
