The Role
Reporting to the Sales Team Leader, your primary responsibility will be to profitably drive increased market penetration and sales growth in Ireland. You will increase business with key customers in Process Industries such as Pharmaceutical and Food & Beverage, strengthen existing relationships, and develop targeted growth strategies for our Process Industry portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Take responsibility for selected customers to deepen and expand relationships, increasing revenues and profitability.
Manage the complete customer lifecycle from opportunity identification to order conversion and ongoing customer support.
Identify prospects and convert sales opportunities within agreed regions or sectors through promotion of Pilz products, solutions and services.
Become the customer applications expert for the Process Industry and champion Process Safety Solutions within the Pilz Ireland market team.
Support business development in the UK and IE markets as the Process Safety Solutions and Process Industry champion.
Collaborate with Sales Manager, Team Leader, Distribution Channel Manager and other Pilz colleagues on marketing, sales and business development initiatives.
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date account, contact and opportunity information using the Pilz Customer Relationship Management “C4C” system.
Generate sales reports (contacts, plans, competitor intelligence) as required.
Comply with relevant code of conduct, policies including Health & Safety, Security and GDPR.
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of sales experience to industrial companies supplying capital equipment to the Process Industry sector in Ireland.
Demonstrated success in the industrial sector.
Proven ability to discuss technical and commercial aspects of capital automation projects with key stakeholders.
Professional, persuasive and confident in sales interactions.
Strong initiative, self‑motivation and ability to drive results.
Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Full, clean driving licence.
Willingness to travel throughout Ireland, with occasional travel to the UK and overseas, including regular overnight stays.
Experience managing the full customer‑facing organization (pre‑sales support, offer preparation, order administration, customer support).
Experience managing multiple customer accounts with a combined annual value of €2m or more.
Hold a third‑level qualification and/or completed professional development in sales or a business‑related field.
Knowledge of project engineering methodologies in the Process Industry and their commercial implications.
Knowledge of process automation technologies such as PLCs, Control Switchgear, Safety Relays, Distributed Control Systems, Safe Automation Systems, PC‑based control systems and industrial security.
Track record of setting and achieving demanding sales targets.
Proficiency with typical IT applications and tools used to drive and monitor sales organisations.
Desired Criteria
Familiarity with regulations and standards for Machinery & Process‑related health and safety, including IEC61511 and the Machinery Directive.
Experience with SAP‑based sales tools.
Knowledge of industrial security vulnerability assessment and risk management technologies and methods.
Post‑graduate business or commercial qualification.
Strong contact base throughout the Pharmaceutical, Bio‑Pharmaceutical, Medical Technology, and Food & Beverage sectors in Ireland.
Experience working in diverse global environments.
