Role Description
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
* Client Reception: Participant will learn and assist how to welcome clients, checking them in, show initiative in striking up conversations and making customers feel comfortable in the salon environment. Make Bookings through the salons app, over the telephone and the social media platforms.
* Client Support: Will learn about how to guide clients to their stations, helping them with capes, and making sure they have everything they need.
* Salon Maintenance: Will assist colleagues in keeping the salon tidy, which includes folding clean towels and assisting with other general upkeep.
* Gaining knowledge on retail products and find selling points for sale and online sales. Will learn how to support the staff through helping clients with bookings etc.
* Saturday is a requirement for the Salon for this Work Placement Experience Programme opportunity.
* This position is a crucial entry-level role in many salons and allows for hands-on experience with client interaction and salon operations.
* Training: Will be trained in the Salon booking system; WPEP QQI Experience Module.
* Informal Training: Team Work, Communication Skills, Stock Organization & Control, Inventory Training, Time Management, Creativity within the area.
