About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Retail Manager to take ownership of our retail operation at The Gem and surrounding Howth Market stalls/shops, leading a team of around 20–30 staff across retail, deli, gelato, and weekend food outlets.
This is a varied role for someone who enjoys leading from the front, staying organised under pressure, and building strong teams. You'll keep the shops running smoothly day to day, from staff management and stock control to presentation and customer service, while helping shape how the business operates and grows.
What You'll Do
· Oversee daily operations of The Gem and retail stalls within Howth Market.
· Lead, motivate, and train a team of 20–30 people across multiple outlets.
· Manage rosters, attendance, and performance using Bizimply.
· Order stock, coordinate deliveries, and maintain consistent standards.
· Handle small purchasing and maintenance decisions independently.
· Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and compliance across all outlets.
· Conduct interviews, trial shifts, and performance reviews with HR support.
· Report directly to the owners with weekly operational updates.
What You'll Bring
· Minimum 3 years' experience in retail or hospitality management.
· Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills.
· Comfortable being hands-on, from serving to supervising.
· Reliable and proactive, with genuine pride in keeping standards high.
· Able to start early when needed (6–7 AM). Own transport required.
· Calm under pressure and confident making decisions independently.
