OverviewPrincipal Data Analyst - Dublin / Letterkenny. Optum is a global organization that delivers care aided by technology to help millions live healthier lives. This role focuses on using data and technology to improve health outcomes, support health equity, and drive data-driven decision making. The role may be based in Ireland with hybrid work options between Dublin and a home-based office. Primary Responsibilities Of The Principal Data AnalystDeliver technology & process improvements that bring applications to deliver measurable benefits.Work with stakeholders to refine data requirements and roadmaps.Drive innovation by testing new technology and approaches to continually advance the capability of the data engineering function.Lead and mentor the team of Data Analysts and Data Engineers.Scope, design, build, test and implement tactical & strategic solutions.Engage with stakeholders and provide insights and recommendations on process/system improvements that will support delivery & data strategy.Utilize SQL to create net new solutions, modify existing content and distribute the data to users and other systems.Develop Data Standards and deploy automation tools to obtain and process data from different sources.Drive development, monitoring, review, and evaluation of new metrics, KPIs, key risk indicators, reports & dashboards, utilizing data discovery techniques across complex data sets. Build Azure Data services to support development activities (Azure SQL Server, ADF, Databricks) and some on-premises Microsoft SQL Database servers.Provide recommendations to the development team regarding query optimization.Project leadership as required.Maintain & refine Data Backlog for Engineering team based on Stakeholder engagements & business priorities.Required Qualifications Of The Principal Data AnalystBachelor's degree or equivalent experienceSolid SQL experience, including experience with various database technologies (e.g. Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, DB2, Teradata)Proficient Python, Spark or PySpark experienceExperience in data ETL and blending toolsDemonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely in writing and orally to individuals and groupsHands-on experience developing data pipelines that demonstrate a solid understanding of software engineering principlesPower Platform (PowerBI, PowerApps, PowerAutomate)Preferred Qualifications Of The Principal Data AnalystExperience building data pipelines on either AWS, Azure or GCP, following best practices in cloud deploymentsUnderstanding of system hardening, and threat and vulnerability managementData migration projects / Dev-ops / Data-Dev-Ops / Query OptimizationProven track record in delivering technology driven solutions through full project life cycleAdditional InformationPlease note you must currently be eligible to work and remain indefinitely without any restrictions in the country to which you are applying.
