Role: Control Systems Architect.
Location: Galway, Ireland.
Onsite role.

Client: NNIT Ireland in the Med-Tech sector.
The role involves input to the design, implementation, debug, qualification and optimization of automation and control systems within a regulated cGMP manufacturing environment, requiring expert level skills with HMI and PLC systems in GMP environments (Medical Devices, Pharma, Life Sciences or Biotech).

Responsibilities
Provide senior technical and automation operational support to the Manufacturing team onsite.
Investigate manufacturing deviations and anomalies related to automation and software.
Present status, report metrics, identify potential issues, and pursue improvement initiatives as applicable.
Manage small projects related to corrective action or equipment performance improvement.
Implement software/hardware changes and upgrades, and understand impact on the Manufacturing process.
Program PLC and HMI applications for automated process equipment; troubleshoot; demonstrate knowledge of instrumentation and controls.
Implement modification/change control procedures and protocols.
Support Validation Department with initial design review, software testing, and protocol review.
Skills & Qualifications
Strong experience with Rockwell/Allen Bradley automation systems.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) level experience with PLC and HMI systems.
Strong overall PLC experience across all stages of the automation process.
Network Architecture (including industrial network protocols) – advantageous.
ISA-88 / PackML and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) – advantageous.
Vision Systems (Cognex Vision Pro) – advantageous.
Lazers (sic) – advantageous.
Robots (Epson, Fanuc & OMRON) – advantageous.
Visual Basic (VB) – advantageous.
Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) – advantageous.
Ignition – advantageous.
Essential: Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities; strong technical writing skills; GMP environment experience; understanding of GAMP principles, systems implementation and validation concepts.
Person Profile
Degree: Level 8 in Engineering or equivalent (emphasis in software development, electrical, electronic or automation).
Strong problem-solving skills; works well in a team or independently.
7+ years' automation systems experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices or life sciences manufacturing.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills; detail-oriented; able to present to leadership.
Logical thinker; proactive.
Onsite daily presence essential; some remote work may be available; must be able to commute daily to the site.
Must reside within a reasonable commute of Galway or be willing to relocate before start date.
