Job Opportunity: Maintenance and Engineering Leader
This role is a key position within our site team. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the maintenance and engineering management of the site, ensuring equipment, plant, and property operate efficiently to maximize production output.
The Maintenance and Engineering Manager is responsible for managing reactive and preventive maintenance on-site, overseeing internal teams, contractors, and third-party maintenance. They plan and oversee all repair and installation activities, ensuring compliance with maintenance processes and procedures.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure site manufacturing equipment performance meets or exceeds required KPIs.
* Develop strategies to enhance technician training and support ongoing skills development within the Maintenance team.
* Execute planned preventative maintenance according to schedule and maintain plans to ensure regulatory compliance.
* Conduct periodic maintenance system reviews, identifying and executing continuous improvement projects focused on equipment performance and applying best practice maintenance strategies to sustain these improvements long-term.
* Ensure all maintenance work performed on-site meets Health & Safety and Quality requirements.
* Drive the Maintenance and Reliability initiative focused on Preventive and Predictive Maintenance.
* Manage maintenance technician groups and establish maintenance procedures for production lines in a GMP manufacturing environment.
* Support plant optimization across production, filling, and packing, utilities, and intake.
* Establish performance standards and optimize performance across all processes in the plant.
* Engage with stakeholders, including Quality and Production teams, in prioritizing, developing, designing, and testing new or enhanced processes.
* Collaborate with the Production team to plan and execute agreed changes.
* Utilize data insights to recommend interventions driving performance improvement.
* Troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities to enhance plant performance and drive KPI improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Sound mechanical and electrical knowledge of equipment, including refrigeration, conveyers, and packaging.
* Previous experience managing and leading maintenance teams, ideally in a food manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
* Experience using and managing preventive maintenance systems.
* Strong troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Flexible and adaptable with a strong work ethic.
* Ability to respond effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Results-driven, customer-focused with high-performance capability in a fast-moving challenging business environment.
* Proven working experience in maintenance and project management.
