Role Overview
As Site Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of a large-scale residential project comprising 270 houses over a 4-year period. You will be responsible for setting out, quality control, and ensuring compliance with design specifications and health & safety standards. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with site management and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
Setting Out & Surveying:
Accurately set out for foundations, drainage, roads, and structural elements.
Maintain precise records of all measurements and levels.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and building regulations.
Conduct inspections and maintain QA documentation.
Coordination & Communication:
Liaise with Site Manager, Project Manager, and subcontractors to ensure smooth workflow.
Resolve technical issues promptly and effectively.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Promote and enforce site safety standards.
Assist in risk assessments and method statements.
Progress Reporting:
Provide regular updates on progress, issues, and solutions to the project team.
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 3- 4 years’ experience in residential or commercial construction.
Proficient in setting out using GPS, Total Station.
Strong knowledge of building regulations and construction methodologies.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
