This Work Placement Experience Programme offers participants meaningful work experience, learning, and training. Intended for jobseekers receiving qualifying social welfare payments, those transferring from a welfare scheme, or an ETB Training Allowance. Eligibility is verified by the Department during application.
Job Description
Role located in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, Ireland, at Salon 2000.
During the 6‑month placement, participants will assist with day‑to‑day duties under close supervision, developing practical skills such as:
* Answering phone calls and client communication
* Meeting and greeting customers; providing advice on queries
* Reception duties including client check‑ins, bookings, and salon environment management
* Hair washing and application of treatments
* Theory and practice of health and safety/hygiene
* Tool knowledge and care
* Preparing and pricing stock; merchandising
* Operating and balancing a computerized till system
Training
Accredited and sector‑recognised training will be provided. Participants may complete the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module offered by the Education & Training Boards and the Department of Social Protection.
