Aviva Ireland have a new vacancy for a 12-month fixed term contract who will provide integrated in-house regulatory and governance legal advice to our Life & Pensions business in Ireland.
This position lies in a busy and strategically important team which delivers first class legal advice and manages diverse client relationships across the UK and Irish business divisions. You will be joining a committed and collaborative team in Dublin, reporting to the Head of Legal at Aviva Life and Pensions Ireland DAC.
Responsibilities
* Providing legal advice with support as required to various business units
* Assist the Head of Legal and wider legal team with identification and prudent management of legal, regulatory and reputational risk with a particular focus on project work
* Provision of general legal advice and assistance in relation to (new) business initiatives, programmes, services and products as required
Qualifications & Experience
* Relevant post-qualifying experience. In-house experience in a Financial Services/Regulatory environment or large private practice. Insurance experience is ideal but familiarity with the regulatory landscape is required.
* Pensions experience is advantageous but not compulsory; project experience is ideal.
* Strong personal presence with excellent interpersonal skills
* Proven ability to influence effectively, build business relationships and gain the trust of senior executives
* Clear critical thinking underpinned by strong commercial acumen
* Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with proven ability to manage contract negotiations from inception to close
