Purpose of Role:
Provide a range of services to individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities and/or autism.

Required Qualifications:
Permission to work in Ireland.
For Support Worker roles: minimum a QQI Level 5 major award (8 components/modules) in Health or Social Care, or commitment to complete the major award if some components are already completed.
For Social Care Worker role: minimum a B.A. in Social Care, QQI Level 7, or equivalent, plus registration as a Social Care Worker with CORU by Nov ****.
Full clean driver's licence.
Professional Advantage:
One year of experience in a Healthcare or Social Care setting.
Experience/knowledge of report writing and client support plans.
Candidate Skills / Experience:
The ability to support the client group respectfully, centring the client's goals and needs in every task.
Understanding of how to prevent and manage challenging behaviour.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Comfortable working with essential information technology and providing reports.
Main Duties / Responsibilities:
Support service users with intellectual/physical disability or autism.
Ensure service users understand their environment, learn new skills and maximise independence.
Assist individuals with daily living activities.
Support individuals to live a meaningful life, focusing on equal citizenship.
Facilitate participation and integration into the community.
Act as an advocate for clients/residents.
Promote participation of clients/residents in the formulation and execution of their care/placement plan.
Accompany service users to appointments and other events as required.
Assist service users with reduced mobility.
Undertake duties assigned by the direct manager/team leader.
Manage challenging behaviours using a positive behaviour support plan.
Provide reports on client activities to management.
Attend staff meetings and contribute constructively to the ongoing implementation of the care plan.
