ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
Responsibilities
* Help solve day-to-day manufacturing challenges by spotting issues early and finding smart, lasting solutions.
* Play a key role in keeping our production running smoothly by monitoring equipment performance (OEE), tackling downtime, and supporting recovery plans.
* Get hands-on with equipment and product changeovers, looking for clever ways to make them faster and more efficient (SMED).
* Carry out and improve preventative maintenance to keep machines in top shape and reduce unplanned downtime.
* Take ownership of spare parts management so the right parts are always on hand when needed.
* Design and refine jigs and fixtures, bringing fresh ideas to make processes even better.
* Work closely with the production team to plan and prioritise daily and weekly tasks.
* Champion a safe and sustainable workplace by following health, safety, and environmental guidelines - and suggesting improvements where you see them.
* Share your knowledge by training operators on the correct use of equipment and product specifications
Qualifications
* Previous trade experience (e.g. Toolmaker, Fitter, Electrician, Mechanic) or an NFQ Level 6 qualification in a technical discipline such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics or Electrical.
* Mechanical, Electrical or Lean Six Sigma certification - highly desirable.
* Hands-on process experience in Grinding, Moulding, EDM and/or Laser processes - a strong advantage.
* Sharp attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
* Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* A positive, can-do attitude and strong team spirit when working with others.
* A practical, hands-on approach to diagnosing and fixing manufacturing issues.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, using a structured and logical approach.
* Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel).
