Responsibilities
Own and manage ticket queues, prioritizing by business impact and ensuring timely resolution or escalation with clear documentation.
Lead day‑to‑day operations by guiding Data Center Technicians and overseeing hardware troubleshooting, maintenance, and diagnostics (including component replacement, power cycles, BIOS/RAID, OS reimaging, and log analysis using internal tools).
Execute and coordinate rack‑and‑stack, cabling, and deployment activities across the server lifecycle.
Support data center projects and operational improvements, including capacity expansions, retrofits, infrastructure upgrades, and implementation of new tools and processes.
Participate in incident management and incident response, recovery, and root‑cause analysis to minimize service impact and prevent recurrence, mandating an on‑call rotation for escalations.
Lead and apply change management processes, acting as a change initiator where required.
Assist maintaining accurate inventory, asset tracking, and operational records.
Build strong cross‑functional relationships, act as an escalation point, and identify recurring issues to drive vendor escalation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
3+ years of experience in data center operations, IT infrastructure, or hardware support.
Relevant certification or equivalent knowledge (e.g., EPI CDCP, CNET CDCTP or similar).
Strong hands‑on experience with server hardware troubleshooting and support.
Ability to lead tasks and guide junior technicians in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, Linux+ or similar).
Experience in large‑scale data center environments.
Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems.
Experience with networking, scripting, or advanced hardware repair.
Experience supporting projects, incident management, or small team leadership.
Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, server lifts).
