MRG Consulting Engineers is seeking to recruit a suitably experienced Resident Engineer for the St Paul's to Ballykeeffe Roundabouts Active Travel Scheme in Limerick City.

Role Description
MRG Consulting Engineers are engaged by Limerick City & County Council to provide consulting engineering services and site supervision services for the project.
You will be responsible for the supervision of the construction stage of the St Paul's to Ballykeeffe Roundabouts Active Travel Scheme located on the southern side of Limerick City.
The scheme comprises the proposed St Paul's to Ballykeeffe Roundabout Active Travel Scheme and includes the online upgrade of a section of the R526 Ballinacurra Regional Road extending from its junction with Father Russell Road at St. Pauls Roundabout, through its junction with Dooradoyle Road at Ballykeeffe Roundabout to beyond it's junction with the South Circular Road c.330m northeast of that Roundabout and which comprises a total overall length of c.1.0km including approach roads at each junction. It also includes upgrade works to the St. Pauls and Ballykeeffe Roundabouts and side road junctions along the route.
Your duties will include the supervision of the scheme construction including accommodation works, roadworks, drainage, utilities, traffic management, workmanship, materials quality and testing together with checking of setting out, formation, levels and layout of the works to ensure their conformity with the works requirements drawings and specifications
Essential Requirements
· A degree in engineering (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications) or equivalent
· At least 7 years postgraduate experience in the design and construction of civil engineering works
· A minimum of 5 years combined suitable supervision experience in the role of resident engineer (or equivalent) on relevant road project construction including experience in earthworks, drainage and pavement construction.
· Possess a good understanding of technical standards applicable in respect of the construction of roadworks schemes.
Desirable Experience
· Knowledge and awareness of health and safety legislation and regulations
· Competency in the use of Microsoft Suite and Autocad
· Experience in the assessment and approval or otherwise of value engineering proposals
· Experience in working with engineering teams involved in supervision of civil engineering projects
· Experience in managing the procedures and systems for accurate record-keeping and claim management
· Experience in preparation of clear and concise reports.
· MS Project experience
· Chartered engineer status (CEng MIEI or equivalent)
· Experience in administering the public works forms of contract
