Salary: Competitive, depending on experienceContract: Permanent | Full-timeA well-established and growing contractor operating across electrical, lighting, civil, EV, and renewable projects is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.This role would suit someone who enjoys being involved across the full project lifecycle, from estimating new works through to managing progress claims, cost control, and final accounts. Experience in civil or utilities-based projects would be a strong advantage.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for new works and managing the commercial performance of live projects. Working closely with Project Managers and site teams, you will support effective cost control, contract administration, and financial reporting to ensure projects are delivered profitably and in line with contract requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare quotations for new works and variationsReview drawings, specifications, and contract documents to assess project costsLiaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers during tender stagesManage progress claims, valuations, and cashflow forecastingMonitor costs against budgets and manage variations, extensions of time, and final accountsSupport Project Managers with contractual and commercial mattersIdentify and manage commercial risks and opportunitiesProvide clear and accurate commercial reporting to managementSkills & ExperienceStrong estimating, cost control, and financial management skillsGood understanding of construction contracts and progress claim processesHigh attention to detail with strong numerical abilityConfident communicator with good negotiation skillsWell organised and able to manage multiple prioritiesAble to work independently and as part of a wider project teamQualificationsDegree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related disciplineExperience quoting new works and managing progress claimsExperience in civil construction, roads, or utilities projects is highly desirableKnowledge of FIDIC and/or NEC contracts is advantageous
