LeitrimJob purposeThe purpose of the job is to promote and support the rights of service users to access day service and community integration opportunities from a residential setting. The Service users will achieve community integration through personal development, valued social roles and independent living skills which will be blended between Day Service and their local community. To assist the Community Services Manager, in the development, implementation, monitoring and delivery of a quality customer focused, cost effective community service to clients at an appropriate time and setting, along with an active contribution towards the involvement of RehabCare in the expansion of this service.What we're looking for:Essential: A minimum of QQI level 5 in Health & Social Care or equivalentDesirable: Experience working in the field of disabilityWillingness to participate in RehabCare mandatory and further development training programmeWork ExperiencePrevious experience of working in the Community supporting individualsExperience of working 1:1 in the communityExperience of promoting self-advocacyExperience in the provision of personal careSkills and KnowledgeTo support individuals with independent living skills, develop education and employment opportunities.Good knowledge of New Directions and community based programmes.To maintain a basic knowledge of first aid/personal care and to implement good hygiene practicesStrong IT and reporting skillsFull clean driving license and access to a car for business purposes.Flexible with regard working hours in order to meet the needs of the service users.Understanding and knowledge of intellectual, physical and or mental health disability.Your ResponsibilitiesTo support, plan, develop, implement, monitor and review appropriate educational, recreational and occupational programs within the community and within their day service setting.
