Saol Assurance (trading as AIB Life) is excited to announce a new leadership opportunity within our Actuarial Function.
We’re looking for a qualified actuary with strong leadership skills and deep technical experience in actuarial reporting and modelling to join our team as Head of Actuarial Reporting & Modelling.
In this key role, you’ll lead the delivery of actuarial financial and capital reporting (under Solvency II and IFRS 17), oversee the development and optimisation of actuarial models (mainly Prophet), and support risk and business decision-making across the organisation.
What You'll Do:
* Lead quarterly/annual actuarial reporting and earnings projections
* Oversee actuarial modelling and process optimisation
* Collaborate closely with Finance, Risk, and Regulatory teams
* Provide expert advice to senior stakeholders, including the Executive Committee and Board
* Represent Saol in external audits, peer reviews, and regulatory engagements
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified actuary with 5+ years post-qualification experience in life insurance
* Deep expertise in Solvency II, IFRS 17, and actuarial modelling (preferably Prophet)
* Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities
* Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
* Ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts with clarity and impact

Fitness & Probity
This role falls under the MCC, and it is a ‘controlled function’ (CF1) as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011. Appointing a successful candidate will be conditional on the company completing prescribed due diligence to assess the appointee’s fitness and probity to meet the requirements as set out in the Fitness and Probity standards issued by the Central Bank.
