Role Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity to help drive the next phase of growth for a dynamic, internationally engaged business school. As Student Success Officer, you will play a pivotal role championing student success by supporting students throughout their entire lifecycle from initial enquiry and recruitment through to graduation and beyond. You will work proactively to analyse, enhance, and report on key student success outcomes, implementing targeted initiatives to foster engagement, progression, and achievement. Your work will be central to ICD’s mission to provide a supportive, inclusive, and high‑quality learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting the the Head of Academic Development, Registrar, and Chief Executive, you will:

Provide tailored academic and pastoral support to students, individually and in groups, ensuring a positive and engaging student experience at every stage of their journey.
Gather and analyse data to monitor student engagement and attendance (in both online (e.g., VLE) and offline learning environments), progression, retention, and completion, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and implement evidence‑based interventions to reduce non‑attendance, failure rates, non‑progression, and non‑completion.
Collaborate with academic and support colleagues, and external stakeholders, to design and deliver academic and non‑academic initiatives that promote student engagement and wellbeing.
Contribute to the implementation of the ICD QA Policy, supporting the continuous enhancement of student success strategies, and advocating for the review and enhancement of policies and procedures in line with best practice from the perspective of student support and success.
Prepare clear and timely reports for senior management and college committees, supporting data‑driven decision‑making and quality assurance processes, as they pertain to student support and success.
Participate in student recruitment, induction, and orientation activities, acting as a key point of contact for current and prospective students.
Assist ICD students and alumni with professional development and career advancement, including coordinating work placements.
Support ICD alumni, proactively gathering evidence on graduate destinations.
Liaise proactively with the ICD Student Representative Committee, identifying opportunities to enhance student success.
Lead initiatives to foster student engagement in extracurricular activities such as clubs, societies, and sports.
Be adaptable and flexible to adjusting your work role in line with institutional needs and direction from line management.
Contribute to teaching and assessment.

Ideal Candidate Profile

A degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Strong analytical ability and attention to detail;
Commitment to student‑centred service and continuous improvement;
Excellent ability to work proactively and independently on one’s own initiative;
Excellent capacity to take direction and respond to constructive feedback;
Strong work ethic;
Strong ability to work alone and collaboratively within teams;
A proactive, solutions‑focused, pragmatic and collegial approach to problem solving;
Strong ability to be flexible and adaptable working in a role that is likely to change and evolve in line with institutional needs.
Postgraduate qualification in business, accounting, finance, or a related field;
A qualification in education, counselling, digital education or learning/instructional design;
Experience in student support, academic administration, or a related field;
Experience as a student representative or within a student union;
Knowledge of quality assurance frameworks in higher education;
Experience working with international or multicultural student cohorts;
Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
