Mechanical Pre-Construction Lead
Our client, a prominent global EPCM company, is seeking a Mechanical Pre-Construction Lead (Piping / Mechanical) to join their team and support the delivery of a major project in Europe.
Role Overview
The Mechanical Pre-Construction Lead is assigned to a project as a senior member of the Construction Team, with responsibility for the proper and timely delivery of the Mechanical scope during the pre-construction phase.
The role is responsible for ensuring that the Mechanical scope is developed in accordance with project Safety and Quality standards, the detailed design, the control estimate, contract, SOP's, WI's, etc.
The role is based in Dublin with a hybrid working arrangement.
Pre-construction activities are based out of the EPCM office in Dublin.
Travel to the project site in Europe will be required as needed, approximately 8 days per month.
Responsibilities
Detailed review and liaison with design and client workgroup leads, model reviews.
Prepare detailed SOWs for trade contract procurement.
Lead constructability reviews.
Assist in preparation of detailed BOQs.
Review returned Mechanical bids and prepare TBA.
Trade and industry knowledge reviews, staying up to date with developments in the construction industry.
Development of detailed execution strategies.
Input into CHSP, QA/TO and all other General Construction Requirement documentation.
Assist in schedule development, schedule reviews and lead IAPs.
Provide input for the development of the Mechanical construction department, which will include improving execution procedures, liaising with the Mechanical Design department leads, and managing and developing Mechanical construction resources across the project.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Significant experience in a similar role.
Biotech and/or Pharmaceutical industry knowledge.
Excellent multidisciplinary knowledge.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
