We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deli Manager to oversee the daily operations of our deli department in a retail setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing team members, ensuring high-quality product offerings, and delivering exceptional customer service. The Deli Manager will play a crucial role in driving sales, enhancing product presentation, and maintaining food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise, train, and develop deli staff to ensure efficient and effective operations.
* Schedule and manage staff shifts, ensuring adequate coverage during peak times.
* Product Management:
o Oversee the preparation, presentation, and merchandising of deli products, including meats, cheeses, salads, and prepared foods.
o Ensure product quality and freshness by monitoring inventory levels and conducting regular quality checks.
* Customer Service:
o Offer outstanding customer service by assisting customers with selections, answering inquiries, and resolving any concerns or complaints.
o Promote deli products and suggest pairings or specials to enhance the customer experience.
* Sales and Financial Management:
o Implement strategies to increase deli sales and profitability while maintaining budgetary goals.
o Analyze sales reports and identify trends to drive product selection and marketing efforts.
* Food Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
o Conduct regular cleaning and sanitization activities in the deli area to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
* Work closely with other store departments to coordinate promotions and special events.
* Assist in ordering and inventory management to optimize stock levels.
Requirements
Key Requirements:
* Education:
o High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in culinary arts, hospitality management, or a related field is a plus.
* Experience:
o Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the retail grocery industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a deli or food service environment.
o Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
