Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Cyber Security Analyst to help protect the organisation's systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This role will be responsible for monitoring security events, analysing incidents, and supporting the implementation of security controls in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM and other security tools.
* Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware, phishing, and intrusion attempts.
* Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation activities.
* Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security controls, policies, and procedures.
* Support risk assessments, audits, and compliance activities (e.g. ISO 27001, GDPR).
* Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to improve security posture.
* Stay up to date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* 1–3 years of experience in a cyber security, SOC, or IT security role.
* Basic understanding of networks, operating systems, and cloud environments.
* Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners.
* Knowledge of common attack vectors, threats, and mitigation techniques.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Desirable:
* Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP (or working towards).
* Experience in a SOC or incident response environment.
* Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
* Understanding of Irish/EU regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR, NIS2).
