This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.
The participant will gain practical experience in:
During the 6-month placement, you will gain hands-on experience in IT hardware setup, troubleshooting, and configuration within a leading education technology company. You will be mentored by experienced members of the SEAtS Support and Training Team.
* Setting up and configuring laptops, devices, and networking equipment.
* Assisting with diagnosing and resolving hardware issues.
* Supporting staff and customers with basic IT queries.
* Documenting troubleshooting steps and creating user-friendly guides.
* Participating in and contributing to training sessions (internal and customer-focused).
* Learning how hardware integrates with SEAtS ONE’s software solutions.
A strong emphasis will be placed on developing training skills as well as technical knowledge. By the end of the programme, you will have developed:
* IT hardware support and configuration skills.
* Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Communication and presentation abilities.
* Technical documentation and training skills.
* Team collaboration, time management, and customer service skills.
* You will also gain an understanding of how SEAtS ONE operates in the education technology sector and how IT support underpins successful customer outcomes.
The participant will receive formal / informal training in the following:
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience is required. Full training will be provided. Accredited and/or sector-recognised training will be supported. Participants are also eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module, developed by Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection.
