Overview
We are recruiting an Electrical Design Engineer for our Power and Utilities team in Dublin. RPS, now part of Tetra Tech, designs and manages projects in urbanisation, natural resources, and sustainability. Join a global organization committed to creating lasting value and supporting your growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Preparation of design drawings (layouts, schematics, etc.)
2. Use of drawing packages including AutoCAD and EPLAN
3. Preparation of equipment specifications
4. Liaising with clients and third parties
5. Design of protection and control schemes
6. Preparation of panel schematic drawings
7. Proficient in English technical report writing
8. Surveys of existing electrical infrastructure installations
9. Development of design solutions according to standards and client needs
10. Assessment of design hazards in relation to health & safety regulations
11. Producing and reviewing design calculations, drawings, and cost estimates
12. Providing technical advice on electrical/energy infrastructure projects
13. Exploring innovation and sustainability opportunities
14. Progress reporting and client presentations
Qualifications
Minimum
* Electrical Engineering Degree (ideally Level 8)
* Relevant experience
* Chartered Engineer status or seeking to achieve it
* Full clean driving license
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Desirable
* Experience with HV substations (10kV to 220kV)
* Knowledge of engineering software (Powerfactory, ETAP)
* Familiarity with ESB standards
