Job Purpose
The Director of Insurance, Ireland will lead the strategic and operational growth of the Irish insurance business across all customer segments and product lines. This role carries full responsibility for performance across the end to end customer lifecycle, from lead generation and sales through to renewal and retention.
Working closely with senior leadership and functional managers, the role will focus on accelerating growth within SME and Enterprise segments, improving operational efficiency, strengthening insurer relationships, and embedding a strong performance and compliance culture across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
* Lead delivery of ambitious growth targets for the Irish insurance division
* Develop and execute clear commercial and operational growth plans
* Lead, develop, and motivate a growing team across sales, operations, and renewals
* Build a high performance culture focused on accountability, development, and results
* Drive training, onboarding, coaching, and technical development across teams
* Own regulatory and compliance responsibilities in partnership with central compliance and legal functions
* Build strong internal relationships to drive referrals and cross divisional collaboration
Sales, Lead Generation, and Retention
* Align marketing and sales activity to optimise lead flow, conversion, and profitability
* Drive growth through inbound leads and cross sell opportunities from existing customer data
* Partner with marketing to improve digital channels, campaigns, and online presence
* Improve client retention through product, pricing, and customer experience initiatives
* Support teams to identify and close additional product opportunities with existing clients
Data, Performance, and Compliance
* Use MI, dashboards, and KPIs to manage performance at team and individual level
* Embed a quality first approach with strong audit, governance, and reporting standards
* Ensure regulatory requirements are met while maintaining a customer centric culture
Insurer Relationships
* Develop and strengthen insurer relationships to improve placement strategy, cover, service, and remuneration
* Work closely with product and compliance teams to align insurer expectations with business objectives
Experience and Skills Required
* Proven leadership experience within insurance or a closely related sector
* Strong understanding of commercial motor and non motor insurance products
* Hands on sales background with a consistent record of achieving targets
* Experience managing sales teams and working with data driven lead generation models
* Strong commercial and analytical skills, including forecasting and performance management
* In depth knowledge of the Irish insurance market and insurer landscape
* Comfortable operating in a fast paced, growth focused environment
* Willing to be hands on and support teams across sales, operations, pricing, and process improvement
* Strong relationship building skills internally and externally
* Willingness to travel as required

* Experience working across multiple insurers and brokers
* Exposure to CRM, reporting, and BI platforms
* Experience selling to larger enterprise clients
