Environment, Health & Safety Manager, Carrigtwohill
This role supports the Cork Manufacturing Site in maintaining and developing Environmental, Health, and Safety management systems. The manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations, interpreting regulatory changes, and guiding operations to meet full compliance with IE licences, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Lead for Industrial Emissions Directive Licence compliance and relicensing applications for large-scale manufacturing.
2. Oversee reporting of annual emission and waste data to EPA and Water Authority.
3. Provide leadership on environmental, health, and safety matters, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure understanding and compliance.
4. Oversee EHS Engineers conducting risk assessments, ergonomics, radiation safety, chemical management, industrial hygiene, and ATEX assessments, following strict change management for medical devices and clean rooms.
5. Manage EHS team activities related to ISO14001 and ISO45001 management systems, including auditing and implementation.
6. Develop and maintain EHS policies to meet regulatory standards, supporting COMAH/Seveso III operations.
7. Support operational managers in developing and implementing EHS strategies to promote a safe workplace.
8. Manage stakeholder partnerships on sustainability issues such as carbon footprint, climate, and REACH compliance.
9. Develop strategies to reduce environmental impact, promote energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable practices.
10. Allocate resources effectively, ensuring adequate staffing, training, and development; recruit and develop talent.
11. Coach and mentor EHS staff, fostering continuous learning and high performance.
12. Promote employee engagement and positive relations through effective communication and timely issue resolution.
Candidate Profile:
* Minimum 8 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in chemical or pharmaceutical industries, with Environment and Process Safety expertise.
* Bachelor's Degree (Level 8) in Health and Safety, Science, Engineering, or related field.
* Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
* Motivated with a passion for EHS and continuous improvement.
* Excellent initiative, adaptability, and communication skills.
* Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on process improvement and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
