About the Role

As a Community Development Outreach Worker, you will play a key role in building strong relationships with local communities, empowering them to address social exclusion issues and promote migrant integration.
Working within a community development approach, you will engage with residents, community groups, and stakeholders to develop and deliver inclusive initiatives that promote social cohesion, counter misinformation, and respond to community concerns.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement community engagement strategies to build trust and foster collaboration among diverse community groups.
* Collaborate with local organizations, statutory bodies, and other stakeholders to develop and deliver projects that promote social inclusion and migrant integration.
* Provide accurate information, counter misinformation, and respond to community concerns through various channels, including talks, workshops, events, and media outreach.
* Facilitate group work and event management to bring community members together and promote collective action.
* Maintain regular communication channels with the local community to ensure their needs are being met and addressed.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A relevant third-level qualification or equivalent experience in community development, youth work, social sciences, or a related field.
* A strong interest in and knowledge of the issues facing local communities, particularly those related to migration and asylum seekers.
* Experience in delivering community development approaches, local needs analysis, planning, and addressing social exclusion issues.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
* Ability to work collaboratively with diverse community groups and stakeholders, including local organizations, statutory bodies, and individuals.
* Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
