About the Role: As a key member of our Data Engineering team, you will play a vital role in driving innovation and improving the efficiency of our data processes. Your primary responsibilities will include delivering technology and process improvements that bring measurable benefits, working with stakeholders to refine data requirements and roadmaps, and driving innovation by testing new technologies and approaches.
Main Responsibilities:
* Deliver technology and process improvements that bring measurable benefits
* Work with stakeholders to refine data requirements and roadmaps
* Drive innovation by testing new technologies and approaches
* Lead and mentor a team of data analysts and engineers
* Scope, design, build, test, and implement tactical and strategic solutions
* Engage with stakeholders and provide insights and recommendations on process and system improvements that support delivery and data strategy
* Utilize SQL to create net new solutions, modify existing content, and distribute data to users and other systems
* Develop data standards and deploy automation tools to obtain and process data from different sources
* Drive the development, monitoring, review, and evaluation of new metrics, KPIs, key risk indicators, reports, and dashboards using data discovery techniques across complex datasets
* Build Azure Data services to support development activities (Azure SQL Server, ADF, Databricks) and some on-premises Microsoft SQL Database servers
* Provide recommendations to the development team regarding query optimization
* Maintain and refine data backlog for the engineering team based on stakeholder engagements and business priorities
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Solid SQL experience, including experience with various database technologies (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, DB2, Teradata)
* Proficient Python, Spark, or PySpark experience
* Experience in data ETL and blending tools
* Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely in writing and orally to individuals and groups
* Hands-on experience developing data pipelines that demonstrate a solid understanding of software engineering principles
* Power Platform (PowerBI, PowerApps, PowerAutomate) preferred qualifications
* Experience building data pipelines on either AWS, Azure, or GCP, following best practices in cloud deployments
* Understanding of system hardening, and threat and vulnerability management
* Data migration projects/Dev-ops/Data-dev-ops/query optimization
* Proven track record in delivering technology-driven solutions through full project lifecycle
