Senior Product Specialist - Health Insurance
This role will report to Senior Product Manager.
Responsibilities
* Supporting Irish Life Health strategy for Product Strategy and New Product Development working through a cross‑functional forum to develop and agree roadmap of health insurance product enhancements, changes and new plan launches that will support delivery of our goals.
* Manage any product rationalisation and retirements in line with business requirements.
* Driving use of customer insights from customer segmentation, competitive analysis and market trends (both commercially and health system) to inform changes to existing portfolio and new product development process.
* Collaborate with Proposition team to understand the needs of various segments of ILH portfolio and input into continual benefit refreshes to continue to meet those needs.
* Using data and analytics of customer behaviour to determine opportunities and challenges across portfolio.
* Applying innovative thinking and a drive for results to translate customer insights and commercial acumen into propositions which help Irish Life Health’s members lead healthier lives.
* Working integrally with Pricing Team and cross‑functional teams to align customer interest with commercial return.

* Support the implementation of the marketing strategy and incorporate into objectives.
* Assist the Marketing management team by taking the lead and delivering results for specified Marketing priorities.
* Work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver and support the Marketing strategy and business goals.
* Manage own workload ensuring all deliverables are met to a high quality standard and targets are achieved.
* Take the lead in assigned projects.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of team goals and provide support on developing team goals and implementing goals.
* Provide support to colleagues in idea generation and decision making.
* Be a champion for the Customer across the business ensuring their needs are prioritised.
What you will need to be successful in the role
Product Knowledge
* Strong expertise in using data and research to identify customer behaviour and insights.
* Strong commercial acumen and understanding of profitability drivers.

* Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
* Demonstrable record of inter‑departmental collaboration.
* Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
* 3rd level qualification in Business/Marketing or related discipline.

Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills
* 4+ years of product or proposition development experience in Financial Services, with some commercial responsibility and a proven track record of driving growth in the business.
* Knowledge of Health Insurance market in Ireland and associated regulation.
* Business management needs and challenges faced by customers, competitors in the space, and emerging trends that could shape new opportunities.
* Excellent knowledge of the regulatory rules that govern the product landscape including all rules and regulations set by both HIA, CBI and the Revenue Commissioners where applicable.
* APA in Health Insurance is desired but not essential.
