Business Decarbonisation Supports - Programme Executive

Job Title: Business Decarbonisation Supports - Programme Executive

Salary: €52,026 pa (Other arrangements may apply if you are currently a serving civil or public service)

Tenure: 5‑year fixed term contract

Work Location: Dublin, Dundalk, Cork or Sligo

Closing Date: Midnight, Friday 7th November 2025

We have an exciting opportunity in the Business Programme (SME) within the Business Support Department. The Business Support Department develops, administers, and manages a number of focused energy programmes designed to support a range of small to large businesses to implement energy efficiency and renewable approaches to deliver on the Climate Action Plan targets.

This position will play a key role in delivering SEAI’s supports to small and large commercial energy users, including the Energy Academy, the Support Scheme for Energy Audits, the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat, the Non‑Domestic Microgeneration Grant, the Large Industry Energy Network, the Excellence in Energy Efficient Design (EXEED) programme, and the Business Energy Upgrades Scheme.


Essential Requirements

* An honours degree (a minimum of NFQ Level 8 or greater) or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Science, Business or Social Science and a minimum of three years’ work directly relevant experience in energy or business‑related roles (postgraduate studies may be included).
* An ordinary degree (a minimum of NFQ Level 7 or greater) or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Science, Business or Social Science and a minimum of five years’ work directly relevant experience in energy or business‑related roles (postgraduate studies may be included).
* A third level certificate (a minimum NFQ Level 6 or greater) or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Science, Business or Social Science and a minimum of eight years’ work directly relevant experience in energy or business‑related roles (postgraduate studies may be included).
* Experience working in sustainable energy and/or with the SME or Industry sector.
* Strong project management and organisation skills and knowledge of business process development.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills (including report writing, presenting and public speaking) with an ability to communicate complex concepts to non‑technical audiences.
* Well‑developed IT skills including proficiency with MS Excel or equivalent.


Desirable Requirements

* Commercially focused, with a good understanding of the challenges facing Irish businesses.
* Experience delivering training and educational supports to varied audiences.
* Experience analysing, reporting and communicating insights from data.
* Experience in building energy retrofit activities, industry energy efficiency or business sustainability.
* Experience in delivering high‑volume grant programmes, or other high‑volume client‑facing services.
* Experience with energy, environmental or quality management systems.
* Experience or knowledge of delivering positive customer experiences.


Eligibility to Work

The SEAI has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees are lawfully entitled to work in Ireland. To qualify, candidates must hold a valid visa on the date of application and where applicable to support a candidate’s application, candidates must submit a valid work permit/visa confirming permission to work in Ireland when requested. Failure to submit the required evidence, and failure to hold a valid permit/visa during the period of the contract, will result in the application and/or contract of employment being rendered void.
