Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of the Industrial Electrician/Commissioning Engineer include:
* Ensuring adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies, and procedures on-site.
* Supporting project delivery teams in developing and preparing commissioning test documentation.
* Delivering and commissioning electrical installations of various sizes.
* Installing and commissioning instrumentation and equipment.
* Installing pumps, VSDs, and controls.
* Reading and understanding working drawings and schematics.
* Conducting initial power-up of MCCs, rotation checks on motors, and I/O point-to-point checks (dry testing).
* Setting up instrumentation in the field, scaling signals back to PLC, and calibrating instruments as needed.
* Supervising suppliers, sub-contractors, and site-based staff, and coordinating with project teams and Maintenance Department.
* Collaborating with Process Engineers to optimize water and wastewater process performance.
* Completing all commissioning documentation, including pre-test inspections, commissioning sheets, and SAT documentation.
* Monitoring work schedules and working independently.
* Possessing wastewater and water process awareness (beneficial).
* Fault finding and recertification of electrical systems.
* Participating in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), providing acceptance sign-off.
* Performing preliminary installation checks and creating snag lists for subcontractors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
The requirements for the role include:
* Trade-qualified in Electrical or E&I RECI [or equivalent], with 5 years post-apprenticeship experience.
* Mechanical experience is advantageous.
* Experience in Water/Wastewater systems is advantageous.
* Proficiency in commissioning and process proving of MEICA systems.
* Ability to liaise with customers regarding commissioning and sign-off.
* Full clean driving license.
* Safe Pass certification.
* Manual Handling Certificate.
