The successful candidate will join the R&D team to take responsibility for complex LV distribution projects in the electrical power industry. With excellent people skills, you have a proven ability to work in partnership at all levels. With high levels of commitment, your responsibilities will include leading various stages of projects from concept to completion. This is an opportunity to be involved in a dynamic engineering department with exposure to multiple projects running simultaneously. You will work closely with customers, listening to their needs and implementing innovative solutions using latest technologies. You will be required to commit considerable effort to truly understand our customer’s systems and processes and identify ways to add value.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the R&D Manager, the Electrical Design Engineer will work as part of the ECAD team, ensuring deliverables required by the project are developed in line with company protocols and procedures.
Design of critical power distribution systems, PLC based control panels and energy monitoring systems.
Assemble document packages and develop drawing sets for review.
Application of relevant international design standards to all design projects. (e.g IEC 61439, UL 891).
Communicate progress on design plan and design deliverables to the R&D Manager.
Submitting designs and BOM’s for review and any other design deliverable documentation for review approval.
Coordinating with the assigned project lead, ensuring alignment on deliverables and timelines and any running changes during the design phase of a project.
Supporting continuous improvement & development of the R&D Team processes and Controls.
Requirements
Be degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or similar with minimum 3 years experience in similar environment.
Previous experience designing low voltage power distribution products.
Demonstrated success working to prescribed standards.
Experience with Solid Works Electrical or similar electrical design software.
Experience of Building Management Systems would be advantageous, but not essential.
Have excellent communication skills with a professional approach to work and sharp eye for detail.
Good team player, but capable of working independently.
Driving License and Access to a vehicle.
Willingness to travel if required.
