About the Role
Beechtree Nursing Home is seeking a compassionate, creative, and motivated Activities Staff Member to join our team on a part-time basis (24 hours per week). This role plays a vital part in enhancing the well-being and quality of life of our residents through engaging and meaningful activities.
You'll be part of a supportive team that values respect, dignity, and independence for every resident.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Engagement & Activity Planning
* Organize and deliver therapeutic, meaningful, and enjoyable activities tailored to residents' interests and needs
* Collaborate with nursing staff and the Activities Staff Members to assess individual needs and develop personalized programmes.
* Encourage residents to participate in planning and choosing activities
* Ensure variety in entertainment (e.g., music, films) with no repetition
* Accompany residents on outings and, if comfortable, drive the minibus
Documentation & Communication
* Accurately document all activity plans and participation in line with Beechtree standards
* Actively participate in team meetings and liaise with staff across departments
Care & Support
* Support residents during activities, including helping with refreshments as needed
* Promote dignity, respect, and independence in every interaction
Infection Prevention & Control
* Follow all Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) protocols as outlined in Beechtree's IPC programme
* Complete IPC training and apply best practices in daily tasks
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for all residents and staff
Team Collaboration
You'll work closely with:
* Other Activities Staff Members
* Director of Care
* Clinical Nurse Manager
* Nursing and Care Staff
* Ancillary, Catering, and Maintenance Teams
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Relevant qualification in Healthcare/Social care
* Experience in a similar role
* Completion of Sonas & Imagination Gym courses (desirable but not essential)
* Enthusiastic, caring, reliable and empathetic nature
* Strong Communication skills
* Fluent level of English both written and oral
Additional Information
* Hours: 24 hours per week
* Rate of Pay: € €15 per hour
* This is a part-time role with occasional flexibility required for outings and special events
