As we continue to grow and expand, we now have a fantastic opportunity within Tierney's, and we are recruiting a Sales Support Engineer. This is a new role within the Sales department, where the successful candidate will work together with other members of the sales team, other departments within Tierney's, our suppliers and our customers. Gathering and providing the relevant technical information and product & solution scoping, that support our customer's requirements, are the key focal points of the role.
Based in our offices in Ennis, Co. Clare, as part of the Inside Sales Team, this is a hybrid role with the opportunity to work remotely 2 days per week, once the successful candidate has completed their probation period. Customer site visits and surveys, where required, is also part of the role
What will the role involve?
Continuously review and assess active customer opportunities on the company CRM system, that are specified as requiring additional technical information and solution specification, at the pre-sales stage.
Liaise with other members of the sales team, other department members at Tierney's, customers and suppliers, to provide the information that is required to complete and issue sales quotations and proposals, to Tierney's prospective and existing customers
Carry out on-site customer surveys, again liaising with members of the Tierney's Technical Services teams and the Client Business Account managers, as required
Develop and manage a system for scoping the quantity of Technical Labour time, Professional Services & Project Management charges applied to quotations and proposals
Prepare and finalise customer quotations and proposals, as required, working closely with Tierney's Client Quotations & Proposals Coordinator and Inside Sales Supervisor/ Manager.
Continuously develop and document knowledge & information, from both a sales and technical perspective, on the products, services and solutions that Tierney's offers its customers
Keep abreast with product changes and upgrades that are upcoming, and with other relevant products that are coming to market
Provide product information, sales collateral and technical specifications to clients and other members of the Sales team, as required
Use of all dedicated company software platforms: Professional Services Automation (PSA), CRM, Documentation and Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) systems.
Develop, over time, an understanding of the products and services offered by Tierney's competitors.
Attend and participate in New Business Development calls and meeting, online and onsite, as required, supporting other sales team members and adding confidence to the customer's perspective of Tierney's
Assist in the development and delivery of POS (point of sale) presentations and demonstrations to potential customers.
Maintain and manage the necessary relationships with Tierney's vendors, suppliers and partners, both on product specification and price
Manage the product catalogue in Tierney's Professional Services Automation (PSA) system, together with Tierney's Client Quotations & Proposals Coordinator and Inside Sales Supervisor/ Manager.
Attend trade shows, seminars and network events, to meet with existing and prospective customers, promote products and to learn about industry developments.
Contribute to the overall department and company financial targets.
Attend company training seminars regarding company products, systems, and processes.
Prepare for and attend, locally or remotely, company sales and any other relevant meetings.
What we are looking for :
Ideally, the successful candidates will have a minimum of 3 years' experience working within the IT industry, in a technical role.
IT field services experience including workstation & network (Admin, WiFi, POS), installations is advantageous.
Understanding of Cloud Solutions and Technology, including M365 & Azure
Cyber Security experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
Strong attention to detail, organisational ability and follow through
Ability to work independently and use one's own initiative
Strong team player, collaborates and supports colleagues in achieving team goals
A full clean driver's licence and a willingness to travel to customer sites
