Clinical Nurse Manager 1 – Oncology / Haematology
Location: On site / Cork, Co. Cork, IrelandJob type: Fixed term / Full-timeAnnual Salary range: from € 57,780.00 to € 68,046.00
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain caring and therapeutic interpersonal relationships with individuals, clients, groups and communities.
Ensure confidentiality on all clinical and non-clinical information.
Provide a high standard of professional and clinical leadership in all aspects of nursing care.
Act as a positive and accountable role model in providing direct patient care.
In consultation with the CNM2 assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of evidence-based nursing practices.
Ensure that agreed standards of nursing care are conducted according to Mercy University Hospital policies and procedures.
Develop leadership skills to create a suitable environment and effective team working.
Ensure new members to the clinical area are made feel welcome and have adequate support.
Seek help and advice from the CNM2 as appropriate.
Participate in the identification, development and delivery of induction, education, training and development programs for nursing staff.
Manage nursing staff mandatory training ensuring staff are scheduled to attend professional development sessions with support from CNM2.
Support Nursing staff to achieve competency in Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) administration and SACT patient education.
Participate in teaching, mentorship, and preceptorship of newly recruited nursing staff.
Ensure there is patient satisfaction with all nursing/para-nursing care.
Foster and maintain good working relationships throughout the nursing service and between nursing and other disciplines.
Ensure there is effectiveness of performance in relation to Human Resource management and development.
Eligibility Criteria:
Registered in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives, as appropriate, maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI / Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).
Have 3 years post registration nursing experience of which 1 year must be in the speciality or related area.
Possess a postgraduate qualification in Oncology Nursing (desirable).
Proficient in SACT Administration.
Possess the requisite clinical, leadership, managerial and administrative knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the office.
Maintain live annual registration on the General Nursing Division of the Nurses & Midwifery Register maintained by the NMBI.
