We are looking for a passionate and talented Senior Commercial Data Analyst to join our Daa Science & Analytics Team. Working alongside the Group Commercial Team you will use advanced analytics, big data and AI technologies to drive the performance of this area of the business. T he main responsibilities of the role will include:
* Being a domain expert in servicing the data and analytics needs of the Commercial team, using rigorous data analysis and analytics to drive the team’s performance.
* Performing deep-dive analyses, including causal inference, pre-post analysis, sensitivity analysis and ad-hoc queries, to identify supplier needs and improve supplier engagement.
* Synthesising large data sets and build data models to develop meaningful business metrics and compelling data stories.
* Analysing cross divisional business trading and supplier performance to support proactive decision-making.
* Working in partnership with the central Data Science and Analytics and IT teams.
* Collaborating with cross-functional trading and business teams to explore data, guide user data experiences and assess business performance.
* Establishing and promote best practices in analytics and experimentation, defining and tracking KPIs to evaluate the impact on the servicing experience.
* Developing high-quality dashboards and analytical tools to Group Standards to deliver clear, actionable and insights.
* Managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, ensuring timely and impactful delivery.
Education, Skills & Experience:
The successful candidate will have all or most of the following:
* Strong experience analysing large, complex data sets and translating insights into actionable business solutions with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
* Passionate about using data, analytics and AI to drive business performance
* Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages such as Python or R, with a deep understanding of both structured and unstructured data.
* Solid background in business intelligence and data analysis with a focus on driving impactful results.
* Familiarity with using Jupiter Notebooks or similar tools to perform data analysis and create visualizations.
* The ability to turn commercial data into valuable insights to support key business decisions and optimise processes.
* Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau to create clear, informative dashboards.
* A good grasp of fundamental statistics (e.g., regression, correlation, hypothesis testing, statistical inference) to draw actionable conclusions from data.
* Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams, cultures, and geographies.
* Comfort working in dynamic, fast-paced environments, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, matrixed setting.
* Strong communication and presentation skills, with a results-oriented mindset and a commitment to diverse, inclusive teamwork.
* A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Work location is flexible in the republic of Ireland. We have offices in Cork and Dublin and Belfast. Work Smart hybrid work arrangement applies for this role. Some travel toDublin/Cork/Belfastwill be required.On occasion between Musgrave Hubs in Dublin/Cork/Belfast.
