 
        
        Manufacturing Engineering Technician role at Jabil
Location: Jabil EMS Ireland, Blanchardstown Dublin 15.
Shift details: 8‑hour evening shift; shift patterns and durations may change, including up to 12 hours, and will be communicated in advance. Shift schedule: Monday – Thursday 15:15 PM – 23:15 PM, Friday 14:15 PM – 21:15 PM.
Responsibilities
 * Maintain shopfloor software management system, providing troubleshooting, upgrades and testing, and train end users.
 * Perform preventative maintenance, calibration and repair of manufacturing equipment and specialty support equipment used in the manufacturing process.
 * Provide equipment and process support (including machine maintenance) to assembly lines.
 * Coordinate maintenance schedule of supported equipment based upon production schedule.
 * Assist in ordering, inventory and sourcing of machine repair parts.
 * Assist manufacturing engineering technicians in the production and process support of the manufacturing lines as assigned by the machine support supervisor.
 * Assist engineers in locating parts and supplies needed for emergency line maintenance.
 * Assist with receipt or shipment of feeders and other equipment, including inventory and in/out processing in the maintenance management system.
 * Assist with crating and uncrating of equipment, line moves, and movement and installation of machinery as required.
 * Maintain inventory records for all manufacturing machines.
 * Log maintenance performed on machines in the database.
 * Adhere to safety and health rules and regulations and follow company security policy.
 * Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Essential Criteria
 * NFQ Level 6 or 7 in a Technical Discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics or Biomedical). May substitute experience in lieu of educational requirements.
 * Minimum of 2 years experience as a MET or similar.
 * Understanding of Design for Maintainability (DFM) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) is advantageous.
 * Experience of SAP or ERP or shopfloor management system.
 * Previous experience leading projects is highly advantageous.
Skills & Attributes
 * Computer literate with intermediate / Advanced MS Office skills.
 * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
 * Strong planning and organisational skills, attention to detail.
 * Proficiency in English and eligibility to work in Ireland.
 * Proven ability to meet deadlines.
 * “Can do” work ethic with excellent problem‑solving skills.
Desired Criteria
 * Level 8 degree in manufacturing technology / Mechanical Engineering / Electronical / Electronics / Mechatronics.
 * Experience in electronic manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
 * Experience in leading process improvements / lean manufacturing activities in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
 * NPI experience is highly desired.
