Commercial Operations ManagerLocation:Dundalk OfficeReports To:Chief Revenue Officer (CRO)About XOCEANXOCEAN is an ocean data company – we collect data for clients ranging from mapping the seabed to monitoring the environment. However, we do this differently, instead of using conventional crewed survey ships, we have developed a marine robotic system known as an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV). Our mission is to unlock the power of the ocean with insight, for a better tomorrow.Role OverviewThe Commercial Operations Manager provides the structure, processes and data foundations that allow XOCEAN's commercial organisation to operate with consistency and scale.This role ensures that all commercial activity across both segments and regions is supported by strong CRM discipline, accurate forecasting, reliable technical input, and governance that reflects XOCEAN's operationally complex environment.You will serve as the operational backbone of the sales function, improving efficiency, reducing risk, and enabling commercial teams to focus on strategy, growth and client engagement.Main ResponsibilitiesSales Processes & GovernanceOwn the sales operating rhythm, including standardised tender workflows, approval gates and governance processes.Ensure consistency in how tenders are qualified, priced and reviewed across segments and regions.Maintain documentation, templates and guidelines that support consistent commercial execution.CRM Ownership & Data QualityLead CRM administration, data standards and user discipline.Ensure accurate pipeline stages, clean data entry, automated workflows and robust reporting.Drive adoption of best practices to support accurate forecasting and decision-making.Forecasting & Pipeline ManagementManage the master sales pipeline, providing clear visibility of short-term demand to support vessel deployment and medium/long-term forecasts for strategic planning.Produce regular commercial performance reports for senior leadership.Technical Inputs & FeasibilityCoordinate central technical inputs including survey-effort estimation, marine feasibility checks and delivery assumptions.Ensure commercial proposals reflect XOCEAN's true capability, risk profile and operational constraints.Integrate marine and environmental considerations such as weather windows, mobilisation options, local constraints and regulatory factors.Analytics & InsightProduce reporting and analytics covering revenue performance, pipeline health, win/loss trends, pricing insights and competitive intelligence.Provide data-driven recommendations that strengthen commercial strategy and execution.Tender Quality & SupportWork with Segment Leads, Regional Leads and the Bids Team to ensure tenders include accurate assumptions, credible delivery plans and consistent messaging.Support improvements in tender quality, efficiency and turnaround time.Tools, Automation & AIChampion tools and technology that improve sales efficiency, including AI-based drafting, automated tender templates, analytical tools and workflow automation.Introduce and maintain systems that reduce bid cycle time and improve consistency at scale.KPIsWin/loss insights and pipeline conversionAccuracy of technical assumptions in bidsTender cycle time and qualityForecast accuracyCRM data quality and adherenceEffectiveness of sales governance processesEssential ExperienceExcellent attention to detail and production of quality documentation.Experience in sales operations, commercial operations or bid support.Strong understanding of CRM systems, sales pipelines and forecasting methodologies.Excellent analytical skills with experience in reporting, data interpretation and performance tracking.Strong process and documentation skills with the ability to build and embed governance frameworks.Familiarity with AI tools, automation platforms and workflow optimisation.Key Skills & AttributesStrong communicator who can work across commercial, operational and technical teams.Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on accuracy, consistency and improvement.High level of proficiency with data tools and reporting systems.Proactive and collaborative, with a commitment to raising standards across the sales function.Desirable ExperienceExperience in operationally complex industries.Background in marine planning, environmental planning or offshore logistics.Experience improving or implementing CRM systems and sales processes..ApplyApplicants must demonstrate how they meet the essential criteria.
