Responsibilities
Lead the Firm’s Pursuit team to deliver on PwC’s market strategy and ensure pursuits are effectively executed and aligned to the Firm’s growth strategy.
Support across the full range of service lines (tax, assurance, advisory) across multiple sectors.
Collaborate closely with client‑facing pursuit leaders and account teams to identify and manage ‘must‑win’ critical pursuits that are essential to the firm’s success.
Oversee the creation of compelling pursuit sales strategies and translate them from meeting preparation to the development and delivery of competitive bid proposals that articulate our value proposition effectively.
Conduct post‑decision reviews and ensure learnings are integrated into future pursuits.
Use knowledge of wider Firm pursuits to support BD teams in identifying opportunities with potential growth.
Identify clients rotating under Mandatory Firm Rotation and action channel conversion.
Lead, mentor, and develop the Pursuit and Proposal team to build a high‑performing unit that delivers differentiated value.
Identify and implement new technologies and AI tools to streamline efficiencies across the pursuit lifecycle.
Engage and build relationships with senior partners, clients, and internal teams to drive winning pursuit outcomes.
Build strong relationships across the wider PwC network of Firms, gathering and implementing global best practices.
Develop and manage external stakeholder relationships required for supporting pursuits (design and creative agencies, content writers, communication coaches, printers) ensuring the highest quality deliverables that are aligned with branding guidelines.
Develop and implement training programs to enhance business development skills across the firm.
Ensure that all branding guidelines are adhered to within the work of the pursuits department.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Marketing, Business, Project Management, or related field. Advanced degree (MBA, etc.) preferred. Professional certifications (e.g., APMP, PMP) are advantageous.
Minimum 10 years of experience in business development and client engagement within professional services, with a strong focus on strategic growth initiatives and at least 7+ years in pursuit management, proposal development and strategy.
Proven track record of building, managing and maintaining senior‑level relationships internally and externally.
Demonstrated success in managing high‑value proposals and pursuits.
Experience in facilitating business development training and coaching teams.
Strong individual sense of initiative, proactive and effective at driving innovation and best client solutions and communications.
Experience drafting and reviewing impactful written communications to deliver specific messages within tight deadlines.
Experience in powerful storytelling and messaging management to ensure the PwC story is effective and linked to client issues.
Leadership and influence; ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders.
Exceptional project management skills, adept at handling multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
Outstanding communication skills; ability to draft impactful content under pressure.
Commercial acumen and deep understanding of client value propositions.
Excellent relationship‑building skills to foster strong client and partner relationships.
Proactive in identifying opportunities for process improvements and innovative solutions.
Creativity in visual and design storytelling underpinned by brand.
