We are looking for a Control Room Operative to join our Operations Team, based in Drinagh, Wexford.As a Control Room Operative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and timely operation of the bus network. You'll be responsible for real-time service monitoring, incident management, communication with drivers and stakeholders, and implementing service recovery plans when necessaryKey ResponsibilitiesMonitor the live location and performance of bus services using GPS tracking systems and scheduling software.Identify and address service disruptions (e.g., delays, breakdowns, accidents, road closures).Maintain constant communication with drivers, supervisors, and other departments via radio and internal systems.Liaise with external bodies (e.g., emergency services, local authorities) when necessary.Respond quickly and efficiently to incidents affecting service delivery.Log incidents accurately and escalate where appropriate.Implement contingency plans to minimize disruption to passengers.Re-route services, deploy standby buses, or adjust schedules as needed.Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs of incidents, delays, and operational issues.Generate reports for use by management and for performance analysis.Provide accurate and timely information to customer service teams to support passenger communication.Assist in managing real-time passenger information displays and announcements.Essential Skills & Qualifications:Strong knowledge of local geography and transport network.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to stay calm under pressure and make quick decisions.IT-literate, with experience using control room or scheduling software (e.g., Ticketer, iBus, Trapeze).Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in logging information.Desirable:Previous experience in a control room or similar operational environment.Knowledge of transport regulations and health & safety standards.Multi-tasking ability in a fast-paced, live environment.Working Conditions:Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, Shift-based work including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.Salary: €28,500 -€32,000Additional Pay: Overtime payWork Location: in person, based in a control room with access to live operational data and communications systems.BenefitsBike to work schemeCompany pensionLife AssuranceEmployee assistance programmeFree or subsidised travelOn-site parkingWexford Bus is committed to a programme of continuous development working to ISO 9001 / 14001 standards.How to Apply?Please apply in writing including a cover letter and CV to with the position you are applying for in the title of your email.Job Type: Full-timePay: €28,500.00-€32,000.00 per yearBenefits:Bike to work schemeCompany pensionEmployee assistance programEmployee discountFree or subsidised travelOn-site parkingWork Location: In person
