Overview
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care to our clients in accordance with agency policies and procedures and current standards of Nursing Practice.
The Role
Under general direction, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing the health status of clients, developing plans of care, and providing medical treatment as assigned. The nurse will also document all assessments, interventions, and responses to treatments in the progress notes.
Responsibilities
1. Assess the health status of clients and develop a plan of care.
2. Perform and document Nursing Intake/Medical History in accordance with agency policy and procedure.
3. Triage sick call list as assigned and make referrals for treatment to appropriate medical practitioners.
4. Complete follow-up assessments of clients treated for chronic and/or acute illnesses to monitor treatment effectiveness.
5. Screen clients for TB by administering PPD and assessing the reaction.
6. Monitor lab values to identify abnormalities and report to attending physicians or physician assistants.
7. Review medical records to assess care being provided and ensure continuity of care.
Requirements
* Associate's Degree in Nursing.
* NYS RN licensure.
* BLS certification.
* 1-3 years of RN experience, preferably with substance use and/or mental health populations.
* Flexible schedule availability.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR.
* Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
* Experience working with diverse populations.
* Knowledge of medical terminology.
* Team player with ability to work independently.
