Tendering Engineer (M&E)
€65,000 – €70,000 + Benefits | Full-Time Permanent Position | Carlow
A leading Irish engineering contractor within the water and infrastructure sector is currently seeking an experienced Tendering Engineer (M&E) to join their growing team based in Carlow.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and technically strong engineering professional to join a well-established business delivering complex MEICA projects across Ireland.
The Role
Reporting directly to senior management, the successful candidate will play a key role in the preparation, coordination, and submission of high-quality technical and commercial tenders across a range of mechanical and electrical projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and coordinate technical and commercial tender submissions from enquiry stage through to final submission
Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to develop practical and cost-effective engineering solutions
Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders during the tender process
Develop accurate cost estimates including labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor packages
Support post-tender negotiations, clarifications, and value engineering activities
Requirements
Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
Minimum 10 years' experience within a MEICA engineering environment
Previous experience in tendering, estimating, or project engineering roles
Strong technical understanding across Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation disciplines
Experience within the water/wastewater sector would be highly advantageous
